BACK TO VIETNAM 2017 TOUR
"IF YOU’RE GONNA GO BACK—THE TIME IS NOW"
NOTE: TOURS START IN SAIGON February 16, 2017.
The Return to Vietnam 2017 Tour is designed for soldiers who served in country and their families. The 2016 tour had 8 couples, a father and son and daughter, as well as a surviving son, a POW wife as well as some singles. The ladies rated the hotels excellent and the shopping great. There is time in Saigon for shopping at the markets. Included is an exciting boat trip in the Delta from My Tho with stops at a Coconut Plantation Workshop and lunch at a restaurant local house. On Sunday we fly to Pleiku and drive to Kontum.
We will spend one night in Kontum and three nights in Pleiku. We will visit what is left of the U.S. military bases (or sites where they were) from Ben Het, at the tri-Boarder, to Camp Enari south of Pleiku in our 40 passenger, air conditioned bus. We will also see the famous Kontum Wooden Church, the Orphanage, and a Bahnar village for a folk musical performance and “can” wine. Leaving Pleiku, our drive is over the Mang Yang pass to An Khe where we tour the old 1st Cav areas; 1st Bn, 7th Cav base; Garry Owen base; 1/9 Cav area.
Then on to Quy Nhon to our Beach Resort Hotel for 2 nights and a chance to tour the old military sites, shop at the local markets, or lay on the beach. Nha Trang is next for 2 nights. For all those spent time at the sea side city during the war, this is a special treat. The food is wonderful and deals on real pearls, all colors at the local market are my wife’s favorite. Remember to bargain. Never pay the opening price. And don’t forget some beach time. Too soon we fly back to Saigon for a nostalgic Farewell Dinner. Overnight and the tour is over but you can book some extra nights to explore more of Saigon. This year we will offer a 3 night extension to Dalat.
